Inspiration Blog 3

Look at the sunset, or the changing of the leaves. Did you ever think that no sun set is every the same as one before? Or maybe that every leaf that falls is gone forever to blow in the wind or decompose? Those leaves gave you shade all summer and now they are turning brown to fall on the ground to crunch under our feet. I took these three pictures not just because I love nature but because we take the small things for granted. Next time you see the sun set, just remember that you will never see the same thing ever again. Simply say goodbye and thank it for what it gave you.

Blog 3- The 4th Amendment is important!

The fourth Amendment states, "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
I believe this is one of the most important amendments made, in the Bill of Rights. It also made me realize just how important it was while in English class reading "The Crucible." This story is written in old English and is suppose to be set in Salem in 1692. At some point in the story they are searching for witchcraft. The man comes to the door and says "I have a warrant to search this home." That struck me as funny because if the Constitution wasn't drawn up until 1787, and the first 10 amendments in 1789, they didn't need a "warrant." Someone failed to search their history better! From what I know a lot of the Salem Witch trials were hearsay, anyone could be accused of being a witch and they could violate whatever they want. Any who, back to the task at hand. You should be extremely grateful that this Amendment was passed. It stops law officials from searching your' person, house, car ect without just cause. If this amendment wasn't in effect could you imagine what life would be like? It would be tons of profiling going on! In my opinion of the Ten laws passed in the Bill Of Rights this one is EXTREMELY important. :)

Inspiration Blog 1

I was watching the 5:00 news today, what I saw amazed me. A 100 year old man completed a Marathon in 8 hours. I thought for a moment, and thought of all the teenagers and adults that walked the Aids Walk in Philadelphia on Sunday. They came back to school complaining of how much they were in pain. These are teenagers in all shapes and sizes mind you. I didn't do the Aids walk this year, but this man made me feel bad that I didn't. Here I am 16 years old, for the most part relatively healthy, and didn't even walk the 8 miles. He inspired me, his courage and dedication at 100 years of age, made me walk home today instead of normally taking the bus the last 4 blocks. I think I will walk the rest of the year, well until it's cold that is. Lol :)

Inspiration Blog 2

Earlier in the week while eating dinner with the family, my mom turned the channel to 20/20. Normally most of the stories on 20/20 hardly catch my interest but this one did. I being of Native American decent, have a strong opinion on the way they were treated. We all know the stories. Native Americans once reached from Canada to Mexico, and one the White man or the "New Man" came to what is now America everything changed. The Native Americans were a very peaceful graceful people, but we call them "Savages." you came to their land and didn't lay down and let you take it. Who really is the savage here? The 20/20 special was hosted by Diane Sawyer, who traveled to Pine Ridge Reservation. You can read the full work up here. " http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2011/10/diane-sawyer-reporting-a-hidden-america-children-of-the-plains-on-friday-october-14/ " A boy she interviewed was named "Robert Looks Twice" little does he know he is my future husband! Lol Robert is a 13 year old boy, his mother is an alcoholic, he is living with his grandmother in a tiny house. He inspired me the most out of the three interviewed, not just because he is beyond handsome but because of his dreams. Robert wants to be the First Native American president, which personally is ONLY right! I loved this story one of the best all year! I know when he becomes of age I will be voting for him. <3
